Brief History: Katylinn grew up on the streets of Persephone without a home. Her parents died of consumption when she was but a child. She quickly learned the arts of pickpocketing and theft, stealing and fencing items to fill her belly. As she grew older, she began to get a crew together to work larger jobs and thus more coin. Her natural stealth abilities increased as she challenged herself, and her crew to increasingly daring jobs. When the Unification War broke out, she was still too young to go to war, and looked too young to pass herself off as the minimum age. Pickings became slim and her crew began to slowly melt away, joining the Independents as they matured.

When Katylinn turned 16 she joined the Independents in their war against the Alliance. Having already accomplished stealth and hand-to-hand combat skills, she was trained up for espionage. Her small crew of four were sent behind enemy lines to sabotage enemy power and food supplies. When they were exposed by a traitor in her crew, she slay the traitor and left his body for the Alliance to find, along with an explosive device. The resulting explosion gave her, the only surviving member of her crew, the chance to escape. She then went into the Regulars, a rifle now her primary weapon as she fought on the front lines at the Siege of Du-Khang and Serenity Valley.

After the Battle of Serenity Valley, Katylinn returned to her former life as a thief, and then found herself on board a scavenging ship. She used her fences now for smuggling the scavenged goods off the abandoned, and sometimes occupied vessels. Loosely termed pirates, her crew smuggled goods to the outer colonies that would otherwise end up in the Alliance's hands. After one such sale she found herself talking with a Firefly Captain about getting a crew together. The heat on her former crew had started to get a little too heavy as identities were revealed. She left the crew and signed on the Neverfall as First Mate.
